Evolution of Characters to Season 5 of AMC The Walking Dead

We take a look at what the cast of AMC the walking dead, Steven Yeun, Norman Reedus, Andrew Lincoln, and many others have to say about their characters going into October 12, 2014 when season 5 begins.

Steven Yeun has grown into this Glenn role where Glenn is forced to make a decision, whether to lay down and roll over or take the lead for his life. Glenn explains how his character has evolved from an individual who didn’t care much about his own safety, rather this new girl. He seemed to be down to do anything. Now, Glenn is more conscious about his decisions taking into account that he now has a wife. In other words, in the beginning of the apocalypse, Glenn was like a freshman in college (down for anything, but didn’t know what he wanted to do with his life). Now, Glenn is a Senior with goals and aspirations (he takes everything seriously and calculates).

Norman Reedus also explains in great detail his characters evolution from season 1. At the present moment, Daryl feels confined in a box (you could say literally). He is a wild animal that has been backed into a corner and we are about to see just what happens when he is backed into a corner. That being said, Daryl doesn’t hold this grudge or chip that he had in the first season. At times, he felt outside the group and thus why we saw Daryl distance himself. He didn’t think he had much to say nor would anyone listen to him. In season 5, Daryl is much more vocal. He understands that now he is much more important and his voice matters. He confronts the issues and is much more there.

Andrew Lincoln explains that in preparation for season 5, he needed a bigger beard. Something that explained that he had age and been through enough shit that he was someone you needed to think twice about. Season 1 Rick Grimes was a character who was used to taking charge. People followed him because he had experience and wore the badge. As time followed, Rick became more and more unsure of himself making those that followed second guess and question him. Now, Rick has seen where his second guessing can lead and his indecisiveness and is not willing to follow any longer. He is going to become this very hard Rick where he tells his son that life is difficult and there are choices you might regret later.

In a recent comic-con clip, Rick talks about the most drastic transformation that has occurred in the show. Carl, has literally grown up on this show and we have seen this actor dynamically change in every conceivable way. This is partially due to the hormones flying in a million directions, but in the last clip, Chandler talks a little about his very own character and the emotional roller coaster he has had to go through.

Below, we have assembled video on each cast member as they talk to the viewers about their characters at the start of the apocalypse verses now.

AMC The Walking Dead – Spoilers and Synopsis

As you all are waiting in anticipation for the walking dead to return, AMC’s writers have been bringing to light certain spoilers and topics of discussion, although intriguing, alludes to the assumption that the show might be coming closer to the end than thought… possibly.

Here is what we know thus far:

Synopsis:

Daryl, Rick and the rest of the group were last found in season 4 captured after meandering into Terminus, thinking that all was fair in love and war. One of the big “light bulbs” that went off in Rick’s head was that, “really no one can be trusted.”

Now, in season 5, the group is together. We know that they will leave terminus while they leave a wake of death in the process. But there will be a cost… who? We don’t know. But thoughts have surfaced that Glenn was the man to go. But many have now thrown that out. We have a savage that won’t give up and we know that the leader will continue to ‘stalk’ the prey. What does that ultimately mean? Will he inevitably start taking out characters one by one?

The groups identity is in question. They haven’t been able to settle down and really grow. In many instances, this could be a very bad reference, in some small cases like the Jews in the desert lost. Unable to really call something theirs or really to start over again. Simply, they are lost and we are looking for this identity once again.

Side Note:

His anger has built, he has removed himself from the recent past, and along with others sick and tired of running into ruthless groups that have already gone over the deepened. Pretty much every group that they have come into contact with has ‘zero’ care for life.

Recently, Daryl’s sexuality has come into question. Robert Kirkman confirmed a month ago that his sexuality had been a topic of discussion, and whether they go forward with that might make for another massive blow. Kirkman is known for breaking hearts. This man is testing the water in almost every conceivable way, trying to take the viewers through a life that no one wants. The great thing about this type of show is that everything is up for grabs, there should be no main character and no set of rules to go by. Kirkman is exploring these waters and showing that shows can be just as dynamic as life. Although viewers want certain endings and certain characters to survive, creating a post-apocalyptic walking dead tv show, ultimately says, that all goes out the window.

Lastly, Kirkman and others have creating a world in which people hold their breaths to find out what’s going to happen next. With 30 million viewers and individuals that love the show, it’s more likely than not, he knows what he is doing. Although people want certain things, they should know that anything is possible and death is at the front door with a pic ax in hand.

The one thing I ask from the AMC executives is let Robert Kirkman and those closely around him do their thing. Just allow the flood gates to open and watch what happens.

The Walking Dead Season 5 Trailer – Youtube Clip

Recently, amc the walking dead released a vital 1 minute trailer covering the entire season of the show. What is seen is completely shocking. Rick narrates the episode explaining to Carl that no matter what he thinks, he is never safe. From this, we see the brutality of cannibalism, the high speed and close calls from walkers, and the continual chase and manhunt.

What are we to expect? Who was on the table being carved? How much of this will be shown and acted out? Get ready folks, because you all are on a roller coaster ride. A roller coaster ride of emotion.

Gale Ann Hurd – Shares Some Key Information For Season 5

Over the past year, many of us have been waiting to see specific things. We keep holding on to this notion that certain aspects of the show will materialize. Even I as the writer of this fantastic  website, I believe in many aspects of the show coming true. But sometimes it’s just not as simple as making things happen the way the audience would intend them to.

Zap2it got to interview Gale Ann Hurd during their month free from shooting. They appeared at this years Comic con and has had the luxury of giving a little teasing during the interview. There are many aspects of the show that we don’t know about or don’t talk much about. Gale opens up about certain key important topics that have been circulating the ethers while talking about how the show will push forward, even though the onlookers might not be too happy.

In this interview, she talks about how the walking dead is supposed to progress and the intense meaning behind “terminus” or “terminate” or even “termites.” It’s not really a stretch of the imagination that this is the name of this location. They have become so significant that they have their own nickname, she states.

Furthermore, Gale states that the group will remove themselves from the woods. Which isn’t that shocking. Look at what the end of the last season showed us. But their urban setting is going to change. This urban change is coming to Washington D.C. Being in another urban setting like this is extremely difficult with all the variables. The only good thing that comes out of this is the mass killings. I believe this will turn into a zombieland where survivors are trying to create the best kind of kill there is.

There will never be really any happiness for Daryl, she replies. She goes into a monologue of how many people have been expecting Daryl to be in love with Beth or get together with Carol, but the matter of fact is that for now Daryl will never truly be happy. Furthermore, there is a scare that Carol might go down this season, but Gale explicitly states that just because he presence was limited if any in the trailer release, doesn’t mean she won’t be in the show.

Lastly, the show isn’t the walking dead season 5 until some important emotional deaths arise. This is the nature of the show she states. So we should expect the unexpected.

Preparation for season 5 of the walking dead

The walking dead television series on AMC has been a breath of fresh air in the television show industry. Like most of you have read or see being plastered across your television screen is constant reality and drama shows that aren’t original. Nowadays, you aren’t a television show broadcast network unless you have one streamline forensic crime show. Furthermore, the shows are completely trash. Some might not agree with me, but as someone coming up with a Forensic Science Masters degree, it’s off-putting. The problem is that many people watching the show don’t have any science background and use the knowledge they gain from the these television shows as truth or relative truth. This translates into people sitting on a jury that expect none realistic expectations from scientists.

In addition, we have these other television shows of real tv… that aren’t real tv, rather a bunch of misfits that have been allowed on a network to throw poop at one another. They don’t understand that they have been specifically selected (personality wise) to do just that, create drama.

Then there is the walking dead. People take this show as science fiction. Well, as a scientist, and one who has received degrees in Biochemistry, I can tell you that this show really isn’t impossible. There are viruses and bacterium that can effect your body in a manner that results as shown on the show to a degree. Viruses rapidly change, there strain increasingly unstable and it’s a continual fight to stay ahead of the curve. So this show introduces us with a very likely possibility and what the human condition will experience pending on the psychological profile.

This leads to the ultimate importance of the article that I am writing. Preparing for a show like this is like a marathon. There are going to be serious bumps in the road where they will be unable to move forward. The expectations in this show is that characters will die, especially important characters. Look for those signs because the writers make it very apparent. Also, re-watch the episodes so you have a strong foundation coming into the next series. Do some research about survival guides and viruses. Being aware of survival in general is good. Hopefully it will never have to be used, but the knowledge could come in handy sometime. Look into psychology and group dynamics, this will help you to understand what is going on and why certain people act the way they do. This will be helpful in real life as well are social beings naturally.

Lastly, keep reading up when you have time. See what’s happening with the cast and production. Sometimes they give you hints as to what is probably going to happen.

Possible SPOILER, Tyreese and Carol might have most important role on the walking dead.

The Walking Dead has been growing interest one season after the next. When all things in this storyline tell us that there will be failure (with main character deaths and such), the viewers kick back stronger with more and more anticipation. The great thing about this type of storyline is that any character is open for grabs and the audience very well knows this. One of the most dynamic characters in the past season, Tyreese and Carol, will expand on their roles in some way this oncoming season 5.

Tyreese, Carol, and Judith are still on the loose and it only seems fit that these characters have some increasing importance within the scope of the show. As we know from prior, Carol releases this built up anxiety that has been tearing away at her towards Tyreese. Tyreese’s forgiveness might be one of the strongest emotionally charged of yet on the show. For him there was a resolve when Carol was able to tell him that there was no suffering involved and I believe that was the most important thing for him.

That being said, there bond is much stronger than ever and we all know that when two people go through hell together, they become ultimately, unstoppable. What does this tell us then? Tyreese and Carol must play a significant role in the release of the captured. To be honest, unless someone slips up, leaving that cart is pretty much impossible. The help of Tyreese and Carol, whom are pretty much ready to do anything will come to their aide.

As the writer and a science nerd as is, I was watching an episode on creation of a solar system and the physics required to form a planet in the justified time frame. The gist of the episode explained how much gravity has a part in the speed of which a planet is created when the mass is a specific size. Anyways, as we have seen in this show, little by little the group collides with each other like this mass. When the final pieces come together, what will result is a cohesive network that fit like a puzzle. Rick and the team need Carol much more than they realize and I believe she is going to show us why.

Daryl’s Last Breath? The Walking Dead Postulates

The past couple of weeks there have been rumors floating around the interwebs. There have been little tweets and whispers about where Daryl fits within the grand scheme of the walking dead. Daryl, played by Norman Reedus, was never a main character. In fact, Daryl should have been killed off a long time ago, but was saved by the executives. The mere fact that Norman Reedus was playing the character was a problem in itself. The reason for this is it’s hard to place such an iconic actor in a short term role and not keep him around.

Reedus plays his role to perfection and it’s exciting to watch him develop into the role and watch his character develop. But the reality is they are in a post-apocalyptic era, with too many unknowns to worry about. I think it’s unfair to single out Daryl. I love Daryl as much as the next teenage girl (I’m a 26 year old guy… so not really), but it’s unfair to make one character immune to death. The arena has been set and it’s only a matter of time before all of them will fall in some way, shape, or form.

Now what they could do is make the untold story of Daryl Dixon as another show off the walking dead to show how Daryl grew up to the person he has become. I just feel like it’s unfair to make one character immortal in the realm we have placed them. This is not to offend Mr. Reedus, but looking at the situation and Daryl’s very dynamic behavior, there are too many areas to which he has become vulnerable. Kirkman loves Reedus and his character. We will see Daryl’s continual role within the show and I don’t think we have much to worry about as far as Daryl leaving this earth.
